Todd McCormick Music 952.956.4404 Live Piano Jazz for Your Special Event Private Lessons Piano and Instrumental Lessons Instructional Methods and Materials • Piano students following the Traditional/Classical approach will use lesson books and materials from a variety of publishers. • Piano students following the Jazz/Pop approach will use a combination of individual printed materials and lesson books from various publishers. • Brass and Woodwind students will use the materials presently used in their band program lessons along with supplemental enhancement materials and solos. • Vocal students will use lesson books and supplemental enhancement materials and solos. • Payment for all materials is due within a week of receipt. No refunds or credits may be given for any materials once they leave the studio. Studio Policies Private Lesson Procedures/Guidelines/Fees Placement Interview In order to provide the best instructional program at the time of pre-enrollment the prospective student will have a placement interview with the instructor to determine previous musical background, interests and goals, and for beginners age appropriateness. Parents whose children are in elementary, middle or secondary school are asked to participate in the interview. There is no charge for this interview and it can be done in person or over the phone. Practice and Regular Attendance • It goes without saying that the development of any skill whether it be writing, cooking, playing basketball or learning a musical instrument requires regular practice and  attendance in order to progress. Regular daily practice is a must in order to learn, progress, improve and meet the goals. Parental Involvement • Parents can help their children by providing a quality instrument, a scheduled time for practice, a private practice location in the home and lots of encouragement. Recitals • Part of the music experience is performing prepared pieces for other people. There will be at least one, if not two, required scheduled recitals for all students during the academic year, September – May. Students and families will be notified well in advance of the scheduled recital by e-mail. Lesson Lengths and Fees • Lessons can be scheduled in 30, 45 or 60 minute time slots. The cost of a 30 minute lesson is $25.00, a 45 minute lesson is $30.00 and a 60 minute lesson is $35.00. Payment/Continuation of Lessons • Payment of tuition ensures a regular time slot from a trained teacher for continuous instruction. • Full tuition payment for each quarter is to be made at the first lesson of that quarter. Full payment for the quarter provides the student with one lesson without charge during t hat quarter. • Split payment method – One half of the tuition for that quarter at the first lesson in the quarter and the second half payment at the lesson in the fourth week of the quarter.  A $15.00 non refundable fee will be charged when selecting the Split Payment method. • Todd McCormick Music reserves the right to suspend instruction when students do not meet their financial obligations; students are still liable for the full cost of instruction.  Tuition credit or make-up lessons are not given as a result of lessons missed due to suspension. •Payment can be made in cash or by check(checks made to Todd McCormick Music). There will be a $30.00 charge for insufficient checks. •Students will be automatically enrolled in the next quarter unless notified in writing 30 days before the end of the quarter. Withdrawals and Refunds Individual Lessons • A 30 day written notice is required if a student decides to discontinue lessons. Those who discontinue prior to the end of a Quarter, excluding summer, without the 30  day notice do not receive a refund. Missed Lessons • As a courtesy please call the music studio when there will be a missed lesson. Prior notification does not exempt students from payment. Students are charged for all l essons for which they register, including those missed through student absence. • In the event the instructor cancels a lesson, a make-up will be offered at a mutually convenient time. Religious Holidays • With one week’s notice to the studio, a regularly scheduled lesson that is missed because of a religious holiday will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time. Tardiness • Please be on time for the lesson. Students who are late for a lesson cannot be guaranteed their full lesson time. Fee and Policy Review • Studio fees and policies will be reviewed bi-annually in January and June. Changes will be communicated by e-mailed to students/parents and go into effect 30 days from the date the e-mail was sent.   ©
